Oops, didn't realize it, meant dig. LOL.
While I'm here.
This guy came up with his own version of the Portico 5033 and it's FREE! It's every bit as good as the 6144.

I'm wondering why nobody mentioned Antress plugins yet. I'm not an experienced mixer yet. There's a lot of discussion about these plugs in the net. There are even some comparison videos between Antress and UAD plugs. Some say they're the best some say they're crap. Is some capable to clear me about it?
http://antress.blogspot.com/
Here are some examples
* Modern Lost Angel.
* Classic LA-2A速 Compressor clone.
* Power On/Off switch.
* Gain Reduction meter include.
* Peak control (Threshold, 0 to -48 dB).
* Gain control (0 to 48 dB).
* Attack time (Variable, 0.1 to 10 ms).
* Release time (Variable, 0.05 to 3 secs).
* Comp/Limit modes switch.
* Modern Fire Chainer.
* Classic Fairchild速 660 Compressor clone.
* Power On/Off button.
* Input Gain control (1 dB steps, 0 to 20 dB).
* Threshold control (Variable, 0 to 30 dB).
* Time constant selector.
* Attack time (0.2, 0.2, 0.4, 0.8, 0.4, 0.2 ms).
* Release time (0.3, 0.8, 2, 5 secs, auto 1, auto 2).
* Ratio (Variable, 1:1 to 20:1).
* DC Adjust control (comp to limit).
* Metering switch (VU, GR, Off).
* Output Gain control (0.5 dB steps, 0 to 20 dB).
* Modern Seventh Sign.
* Classic 1176LN速 Compressor clone.
* Power On/Off switch.
* GR/VU meter mode switch.
* Input control (Relative threshold).
* Threshold level (0 to -40 dB).
* Ratio switch (4:1, 8:1, 12:1, 20:1 and Crush).
* Attack time control (0.03 ms to 10 ms).

Most of the hate comes from the fact that these plugs are free. 'How can something free be as good as something I paid $300 for?' Not all free plugs are good however, but there are some great ones that rival many paid plugs. Antress plugs are pretty good, but I have found many others that I think are better, both paid and free. So they don't get much use from me.

I am into guitar. So I like amp sims. Here is some of my favorites. All free!
Perhaps the best Heavy sounding guitar amp sim. It's the best I have heard. It has a 'Melting Tubes' sound at 'Bedroom' levels. It also has great feel. If your a guitarist, you need to check this out!! Seriously!!
http://www.acmebargig.com/product/shred/
Try the TSE808 here. Great sounding plug:
http://www.theserinaexperiment.net/website/software.htm
This is a guy that makes a few good amp sims. If you have never tried a Cab sim he also has a very nice free cab sim too.
http://lepouplugins.blogspot.com/
Here is another free amp sim. Also has a great clean sound. Put the NRR-1 and the TSE 808 together for some really great old school sounds.
http://www.igniteamps.com/en/audio-plug-ins
Even if you only play keys, try these sims in with your sound. You will be shocked!!
Enjoy!

This is my carefully compiled list of free plug-ins. These are mostly professionally developed, cross-platform, and useful! I was saving this for a possible series on this very topic, but here it is from my research notes:
Flux Stereo Tool (essential stereo panning control for every S1 user)
http://www.fluxhome.com/products/freewares/stereotool
Flux Bitter Sweet (very cool transient manipulator)
http://www.fluxhome.com/products/freewares/bittersweet2
iZotope Vinyl (add some vinyl pops and clicks to your track)
http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/vinyl/
..

Anyone else having issues getting IZotope Vinyl to load as an available plugin? A few things to note. I use 64bit S1v1 (latest build) on Win7 pro. I've tried clearing my blacklist and the include directory for the .dll is definitely in the list to search. I also use other plugins without issue (including Slate FG-X and Trigger, Schope64, CMX64 etc). Any suggestions?

Is the cleansweep plug any better than the proEQ tool in s1? Can you hear a difference?

Nope, no problem here with s1v2 64 bit. Maybe try to install it again, if i'm not wrong, there was 2 installer for each version. Be sure to pick the right one.

I figured it out. The installer tries to put the 32 and 64 bit versions in the same directory (and called the same thing). Since the 32 bit one installs last, it overwrites the first one if you don't change the directory. Obviously, I'm using 64bit s1. Thanks for your help

Didn't see it yet. It's an old one, but i find it a very good limiter, very transparent, and doesn't distort easily.

Gvst also makes a decent set of free plugs. I use the Gsnap often to get some very light vocal pitch correction. They aren't as great sounding as melodyne or autotune, but it still does a good job.

I've always wanted to do a compressor with just an input and output knob, a compressor that just works: gentle, faithful, from almost invisible, smooth leveling to heavy pumping with a nice crunchy saturation and punchy enough to treat drums with.
DC1A looks like a one trick pony. But don't get fooled by lack of further controls. You may be suprised on how many different material this little thing works. DC1A is heavily program dependent, so is the saturation.
